Short Film, 2014

SPRNVA has been a project that I have been working on for the past few years and its intended as a love letter to all of the science fiction that moved me and inspired me when I was a young nerd coming up in the game. Films such as Blade Runner, Altered States, THX-1138 and Seconds proved to be touchstones. What compelled me however is not simply a sci-fi nostalgia piece, but also a project that strives to say something new, something fresh in the genre, while using that beautiful aesthetic to tell the story.

Nolan is a brash, genius astrophysicist PHD student who just happens to be blind. Late one night as he is observing an impossible to find object seemingly heading towards earth, he has a vision – for the first time in his life he can see, but even more incredible, he is not in his own body.

SPRNVA is a short film that I completed in 2014, which is currently on the festival circuit and will be broadcast on HBO Canada next year.
